Fraser Island and Brisbane

Well we arrived back to Sydney only to head up the coast for two weeks visiting some mates. We spent the first week with Giles and his friend Ben hiking around Fraser Island. Then we headed down the coast with the Canberra boys to Kirra Beach and had a few relaxing days.
On the ferry after a nights camp and a view of fraser early morning
First visit to Lake Wabby and the sandblow
Walking north up east coast of the beach
Ready to begin our second day of hiking
In the Valley of the Giants - there were some massive trees in here and what we think must have been a closed trail by the amount of things we had to climb over and through
On the lookout over Lake Wabby and the sandblow
Lake McKenzie
A storm rolling in (they blew through quickly thankfully)
The brightest and biggest rainbows of the trip
On the mainland - 60k and a few hitched rides later
Looking lovely after a week of no showers!
Fuzzy pic of the sunrise (I couldn't be bothered staying up long enough to get a really good one)
On the balcony at sunset
Just south of Kirra is Snapper Heads where we hung out and swum and the boys had a try on Gile's surfboard

End of the US trip

Ahhhh.... belated as ever but two posts in one day is pretty good for me. Here are some pics of the last little bit of our time in the states.
At the butterfly house in St Louis
Last week in Lawrence with Merc people and old KU friends and the drive to OKC from KU.
Top golf in Dallas with the family.

Back in the States

So... as usual I'm slow, but these are for you Sue!
Not long after we arrived in the states we went for a hike with my parents in the Wichita Mountains, the pics from the top will have to come later as they are on my parents camera!

Xmas eve pics

After rockclimbing in Dallas
Rollerskating with the fam!

For New Years we headed to Chicago to visit Liane who had a beautiful view from her apt. We also ventured briefly into the city and went to the Chicago Art Institute and Millennium Park.

After we arrived in our main destination in Lawrence we began to get some snow! These aren't even pics from the heavy storms (we didn't venture outside on those days).
This is a pic of the apartment blocks like ours.
(And I had to include an early pic of our cardboard box bookshelf which has been modified with supports)

The second week in town Kim came to visit and we stopped at a few memorable uni pubs and went to Sandbar where you get beautiful little sharks in the drinks. (don't mind the sideways pic...)

This past weekend while it was warm and when the first batch of snow was finally almost all melted we went out to have a look at Clinton Lake. It was frozen solid.

And we can't have all these pics without one of my randoms (well you know minus the plain ice one...)
