BBQ and a night out in manly

Hello all- this might be the last post for awhile, I think our camera has reached the end of its lifespan- which isn't too bad as we were planning on getting a new one, but it is rather bad in terms of taking photos and having them instantly for the computer....

neways.... here are a few random pictures from our Christmas Eve BBQ and Christmas day with Owen's parents.

Cameron's friend from St. Louis just moved out to Australia so we met up for a night in Manly.

Tasmania

Ok so we've just come back from this fabulous trip where we took millions of photos! and as we went so many different spots i can't resist putting up too many photos!! Plus I'm a big dork and I've made a mini map of Tassie- we started at the mid bottom dot which is hobart, went over to the lower right dot which is marion bay where falls was and then back to hobart and follow the line in a clockwise direction and that's where we traveled!

Our first day in Hobart we were lucky enough to have a few of the boats from the Sydney to Hobart race arrive. This is Wild Oats, who have arrived first the last three years in a row.

We took a shuttle bus to Marion Bay for the Falls Festival. Three days of camping and music as well as new years. This is the gorgeous view of the main stage.

There were so many people there. This is a photo of one of the four or so sections of camping areas, all packed full like this.

We ended up with a great location and spent the early afternoons watching the second stage from our tent.

Here is a picture on New Years Eve of Sacha, Emma and I. Emma and I went to uni together and it was fun to meet up.

After Falls we headed west and stopped at Derwent Bridge where we went for a wander around Lake St. Claire National Park.
From Derwent Bridge our next stop was Strahan. But on the way we went to Nelson's Falls,
and we even got a picture of Owen in front of Mt. Owen just outside of Queenstown.
After having lunch in Strahan we went for a bit of a drive and found Henty Dunes (furthest dot on the left) it was very tiring to walk on such fine sand!
After a bbq dinner at the campsite we went and sat on the beach to read and wait/watch the sunset.
From Strahan we drove North to see Cradle Mountain National Park.
We drove further to Devonport for lunch on the beach and then we camped just outside of Launceston. This bear head just cracked us up and apparently you can have tea parties inside? Very strange thing to find at a caravan park...
On our way to Bay of Fires we stopped near Pyengana at a lovely cheese shop and to walk through lovely rainforesty area to St. Columba Falls.
Here is a photo of our campsite at Bay of Fires, I took this standing right in front of our tent.
It was quite cloudy here but still absolutely beautiful. We drove up further north a bit (top dot on east coast) and walked along the rocks covered in orange lichen.
The next day we drove down, with a few stops, to Freycinet National Park. We hiked in with our packs to camp in the park. This is a view of Wineglass Bay from the lookout point. We camped just behind the end of the beach that you can see.
A few random photos of us on the beach.
Lots of wildlife. There was a wallaby family always around our campsite. We were lucky to get a photo of the baby having a feed.
Later on in the day we were lucky enough to also see a wombat (only picture we got you can't see his head!) and a seal resting on the rocks. The seal went for a bit of a swim and this is when it returned to the rocks.
Here is a picture close to sunset, I love when the sun rays come through the clouds like this.
And last but not least, before heading to the airport when we were back in Hobart we drove up to the top of Mt. Wellington to take some photos of Hobart.
